Guy Batchelor (pictured) has announced his departure from specialist lender Belmont Green and its mortgage arm Vida Homeloans.

Batchelor was a founder and employee of Belmont Green Finance since October 2015 and was formerly managing director of Mortgages.

His confirmed date of departure is the 31 January 2020.

This comes following the news that Louisa Sedgwick has been promoted to managing director of mortgages at the lender.

Batchelor is reportedly leaving on good terms with the decision being "very amicable".

Batchelor said: “It has been an enormous privilege to have been part of the Vida Homeloans journey and its success but now is the right time to hand over the reins to Louisa to take the business to the next stage of its development.

"I am immensely proud to have co-founded and worked in such an outstanding and innovative growth business with some great colleagues.”

In addition, Belmont Green has appointed Anth Mooney, former director of financial services at Virgin Money as chief executive subject to regulatory approval who will start the position in late January.

Mooney takes over from current chief executive David Tweedy, who will be leaving the business once he has completed the handover of the role.

Sedgwick said of her promotion: “In just three years Vida has successfully completed £1.8bn of mortgage lending, and it is an amazing time to take on the managing director of mortgages role as we continue to grow the business.

“I am looking forward to working with Anth and the rest of the team to take Vida to the next level.”
