RLA and NFB partner to help landlords find trusted builders

The Residential Landlords Association has partnered with the National Federation of Builders to give landlords confidence they are hiring reputable firms to work on their homes.

As part of the agreement, landlords will be able to access to the NFB’s ‘Building Works Hub’, which will match their project to a fully vetted, qualified and experienced professional, based in their local area.

Whether the job is building an extension, maintenance and repairs, or a major project such as converting a housing into a house of multiple occupation, the NFB is confident it has a suitable firm or tradesman on its books who can help.

Andrew Goodacre, RLA chief executive, said: “Choosing the right builder for the right job can be a real headache for landlords.

“Through this new partnership we can ease some of that strain by putting our members in contact with builders local to them who have a proven track record delivering high quality work and have been independently vetted by the NFB.”

Richard Beresford, chief executive of the NFB, added: “NFB members are professional builders and contractors, dedicated to providing quality services with care and consideration.

“We’re very proud of the high standards that our members achieve and are pleased to offer members of the Residential Landlords Association a top notch service and the confidence that this partnership inspires.”

All of the construction companies have to meet certain criteria before being considered for NFB membership and have been screened to ensure they are fully insured, financially sound and referenced for quality of work.

They will make sure they are compliant with all necessary health and safety policies, including asbestos awareness, operating to a high level of corporate social responsibility and fully aware of the complexities of working within the property letting sector.
